Service Description

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: All employees COURSE DESCRIPTION: Have you ever felt awkward, embarrassed, or wondered what to say to a disabled person? If so, read on. All areas of the organization must be prepared for the changing work environment that will include many more applicants, customers, and employees with disabilities. There are legal and etiquette issues that will affect job performance and can someday impact the company's future. This workshop provides answers to questions, such as: How do you interview an applicant who is deaf? What are your responsibilities to an employee who requests an accommodation? Should you ask a person with a disability if they need help? Taught by a professional with a disability, who has also been a leader in disability issues for over twenty years, participants will be provided with an understanding of people with disabilities. Participants will also be provided with an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), its goals, and how ADA provisions affect businesses and employees.
