Diversity Cultural Training Programs
MULTICULTURAL TRAINING PROGRAMS
- Managing Workforce Diversity – This workshop offers a comprehensive overview of Managing Diversity. Participants learn new frameworks that guide existing organizational
change strategies and help to create a workforce where no one is advantaged or disadvantaged by race, culture, gender, lifestyle, or many other gender classifications.
Participants learn how to integrate diversity initiatives into Affirmative Action/EEO efforts; how to solve Human Resource dilemmas using a Managing Diversity perspective, and new leadership styles that support managerial ability to maximize utilization of all employees.
- Bridging the Gap: Valuing Race, Gender and Cultural Differences in the Workplace - This workshop explores the interrelationships between corporate culture, intercultural group dynamics and individual cultural dimensions that shape America's workplace. Participants learn practical applications that maximize their effectiveness in working with people of different cultures. Through experiential designs, including group discussions across race and gender, participants develop a cultural awareness that improves their ability to value differences in the workplace.
- Train-the-Trainer – This workshop is designed for managers, trainers, and Affirmative Action/EEO specialists. Train-the-Trainer blends theory and application. Participants examine the historical foundation of diversity and learn to distinguish Affirmative Action/EEO initiatives from Managing Diversity and Valuing Diversity initiatives. Through experiential learning, participants will uncover their own values, attitudes and beliefs, as well as the underpinning cultural assumptions of their organization.
INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATIONS
- Accent Reduction – Accent Reduction and Communication Improvement is designed to help employees whose effectiveness in the workplace is hindered because of their foreign or regional accent, dialect, or communication style. The course focuses on two strands – accent reduction, and communication improvement. The accent reduction strand focuses the participant's attention on the unique aspects of American dialects. The communication strand utilizes communication models to elevate participant's communication levels. In addition to class sessions, students are given an audiocassette program to reinforce materials covered in class.
- Team Building – Teamwork results when individual group members work together toward common goals. This workshop redefines the meaning of team efforts by clarifying the values, goals, and roles of individuals. Striving together, the teams develop group problem-solving and decision-making procedures through various activities. Participants will understand inter-group conflict and the impact different visions, premises, and perceptions have on power and cooperation.
