Since becoming President of Sullivan International Inc., in 1993, Mr. Nixon has established the strategic direction, provided
leadership to the business operations, and acted in a consultant capacity to client organizations.
Mr. Nixon also serves as the President for the National Institute for the Prevention of Workplace Violence, a specialized division of Sullivan International that provides consulting and research to organizations attempting to address the growing concern of workplace violence. In this Mr. Nixon is considered an expert on the issue of workplace violence, and provides training and consulting services for the State of California.
Currently, Mr. Nixon is on the faculty at University of California, Irvine. His courses include: "Developing
High Performing Work Teams with Diverse Employees", and "Essentials of Management".
He is also on the faculty at the University of Phoenix where he facilitates undergraduate such courses in: organizational behavior, performance systems, human resource management, organizational communications; as well as graduate courses in: human resource management, organizational behavior and human relations, and human resource development and employee relations.
Prior to his partnering with Sullivan International, Mr. Nixon was a member of the Western States Executive
Management Team for Digital Equipment Corporation where he was responsible for 7,000 employees, spanning 12 states. Other professional positions include: Division Personnel Manager
for Acushnet Company, a manufacturer of industrial rubber products and golf balls; Division Employee Relations Manager for AIRCO, Inc. a manufacturer of industrial gas, metal and
welding products; and Senior Recruiting Consultant for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
Mr. Nixon has a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from the New School for Social Research in
New York as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts. He has also successfully completed: the
Organizational Development Certificate program at NTL in Bethel, Main; the Advanced Management Program, Managing the Pacific Rim from the University of Hawaii; the Advanced Human
Resource Management Program from Babson College in Wellesley, Maryland, the Systems Thinking Program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Maryland; and the
Creating Competitive Advantage through Human Resource Management Program at the University of Michigan.
